Sugaring FAQs and Important Answers
Answers to common client questions about sugaring, preparation, and aftercare.
Sugaring uses a food-grade sugar paste applied to skin and removed in the direction of hair growth, reducing breakage. It’s generally gentler than hot waxing, often less painful, better for sensitive skin, and tends to produce softer, slower regrowth over time.
Yes. Sugaring is excellent for sensitive or acne-prone skin because the paste is natural and water-soluble, minimizing irritation. Our technicians use gentle technique and preparation to reduce redness, plus post-care guidance to soothe skin and help prevent breakouts.
Hair should be about one-eighth to one-quarter inch long (approximately 3–6 mm) so the paste can grip effectively. Shorter hairs may not remove cleanly; very long hair can increase discomfort. We can trim excess length before treatment if needed.
Sugaring removes hair from the follicle when sufficient length is present, pulling most hairs from the root. Some very short or broken hairs may remain, but regular sugaring typically reduces breakage and increases the rate of full-root removal over sessions.
We sugar the face (brows, lip, nostrils, full face) and body including underarms, arms, hands, legs (upper, lower, full), chest, back (upper, full), buttocks, and bikini options up to Brazilian. Choose targeted or full-area treatments.
Arrive with clean, exfoliated skin and avoid heavy lotions or oils on the treatment area. Keep hair at the recommended length and wear comfortable clothing. Avoid sun exposure, retinoids, or chemical peels for 48–72 hours before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
